officials among graduates of Int'l leadership Institute

- High ranking government officials including ministers,
heads of regional states, MPs and managers of different offices graduated
from the International Leadership Institute (ILI) in leadership courses.
104 students received their MA in organizational leadership and around
50 students got first degree in organizational management from the
institute in a ceremony held at the Sheraton Addis yesterday in the
presence of senior government officials including Speaker of the House
of People's Representatives, Ambassador Teshome Toga.
According to the ILI liaison officer, Belay Mengiste, most of the
graduates were high ranking officials including Junedin Sado, Transport
and Communications Minister, Kuma Demeksa, the newly elected Mayer
of the Capital Addis Ababa, Aster Mamo, Minister of Youth and Sport
and Muktar Mohamed, Vice President of Oromia Regional State.
The graduates were the third batch of the institute which offered
the education program in collaboration with a US, California based
Azusa Pacific University.
Meanwhile, sources from the institute told the Daily Monitor that
ILI has taken 2400m2 plot of land by lease from the Addis Ababa city
Administration to build its own campus at Sidist Kilo, around Egypt
Embassy. The construction is almost completed and it will start work
as of January, according to the sources.
The Institute is a leadership development institute dedicated for
the advancement of academic excellence in developing leadership programs
under its higher education facilities by offering a flexible learning
environment to scholarly impact the destiny of students and professionals
in Ethiopia and beyond.
It is founded by Dr. Badeg Bekele and established a centre here in
Addis Ababa before six years, according to available information.
