Ethiopian Company, Slovak Chamber of commerce sign deal to stage trade fair

ADDIS ABEBA(July 8,2008) - Ad-man Ethiopia, a local advertisement and development company, on Friday signed a trade fair deal with the Slovak's Arab and Africa Chamber of Commerce.

The agreement will enable the company to organize trade fairs in Slovakian and here in Ethiopia.

The agreement would also allow both countries' businesses in the sector of tourism, sport, education, culture, health and in other kinds of trade to stage exhibitions and strike deals amongst themselves.

Exporters of agricultural products; semi processed and processed products, cultural dress and products makers, women's entrepreneur associations, Persons With Disabilities(PWDs) will in particular be the ones to participate in the up coming exhibitions.

Ad-man Ethiopia Program Coordinator Anteneh Girma and Zene Larossi, President of the Slovak Arab and Africa Chamber of Commerce signed the deal in a ceremony at the Hilton Addis on Friday.

On the signing ceremony Zene expressed his willingness to invest in Ethiopia. He added that they are here to invest, to work with Ethiopian business and to partake on the countries development endeavors.

"Slovak is a small country but with advancement in technology," vice president, Lubmir Skalos said after signing the agreement.

"In this regard, I would like to express Slovak Business companies' interest to engage in technological transfer with Ethiopian counterparts and to invest in fruit, mine and other sectors," he said.

Anteneh said on his part his company was working for this moment to come for more than a month.

Anteneh said Ethiopian business community will put on display their products and services for counterparts in Slovakian in two or three months time.

He added that the Slovakian Camber of Commerce is invited the company to visit Slovak before the trade fair.

It would be the first trade fair that was conducted by and in the two countries, according to Ad Man Ethiopia's program coordinator.

Women's entrepreneur association and peoples with disabilities will get a special support to participate on the exhibition and to export their products on the European market, the program coordinator told The Daily Monitor.
